The HCA is looking for help. Could you spare a couple of hours a week? We are particularly looking for people with a legal or financial background or knowledge of the insurance sector to support us through the next phase of developing and running a brand new community building.

Over past couple of years, HCA has made great strides forward in enhancing community life in Hiltingbury, focusing our efforts on securing funding for the new building.Major achievements include:

  • obtaining planning permission for a new Community Centre
  • encouraging the Borough Council to prioritise expenditure for the new Centre, amounting to roughly 50% of the estimated cost.
  • Setting up an active funding group which has been successful in securing over £400,000 towards the community building from different grant making organisations
  • holding a Public Launch Event for the community building in June 2007.

HCA's primary task now is to obtain funding for the balance of the cost of the new community building. This is a tough challenge, as there are a limited number of organisations with the sort of money and grant-criteria, which fit the situation. However, after an extremely encouraging start we are optimistic and determined to succeed!

We have a small but dedicated funding team and we would like to increase our strengths in specific areas. Could you spare a couple of hours a week? We would especially welcome new faces with planning skills, a financial background, insurance expertise or experience in working with grant making organisations. However, any help is appreciated and all those with enthusiasm and an interest in improving Hiltingbury community life would be warmly welcomed to the Association.
